After the COVID-19 pandemic sank our 2020 Long Bridge Swim, we're highly hopeful our 2021 swim will proceed as planned. But please note, we are holding off registration for the August 7, 2021 swim for a little bit yet, until we are (relatively) certain we will be able to hold the event.
We are endeavoring to make the decision by early June. Until then, stay safe and happy swimming!
And be sure to check back here in June, for the final word!
Our decision last year to cancel the 2020 swim came after due consideration of the many factors arising from the COVID-19 outbreak, and our desire to keep swimmers, volunteers and spectators safe. We want to apply all that same criteria this year in making our decision to proceed with our 2021 race.
DID YOU REGISTER IN 2020?
SPEAKING OF OUR SWIM LESSONS INITIATIVE...
MEANTIME, KEEP SAVING OUR 2021 DATE!
If you are not acquainted, our annual Long Bridge Swim is held the first Saturday in August. Located in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho, this 1.76-mile swim across Lake Pend Oreille is one of the Northwest's premier open-water events. Because it parallels the namesake Long Bridge into Sandpoint, it offers the unique chance for friends and family of swimmers to follow along the swim course from the bridge.

So keep thinking those positive thoughts! If you can keep the date open, we hope to pull off this year's swim on August 7, 2021. So do save the date! If we can proceed, registration will open right here starting in June.
The 2021 event will be our 26th annual swim! We hope to see you in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho.
